Fresh Mint Tea
It's official. I've become a true Londoner. My first official "cuppa" thanks to the delicious Carmina Cafe. Where we went twice in one day. Listen, we were really excited about the tea.
I'm knee deep in it, folks. Need to do: 12,000 word dissertation (!), two 5,000 word essays (!!), one 2,500 word essay (!!!), and one 2,000 word essay (.....sorry I passed out for a second). BASICALLY, I'm close to the end of my rope (see what I did there?!) However, there are a few things that I just can't get enough of at the moment that are making the process a little easier. Hope you like them too! ....and that you don't have to write 26,500 words in the next month because that's MY THING. GET YOUR OWN. honeyhoney - "Lost Highway" (Hank Williams cover) I've been obsessed with hh for a few years now and the obsession is not letting up anytime soon. They're such a great blend of folk, americana, and indie. Plus they are a joy to see play live since they have such great personalities. (I swear, I'm not their manager....I wish). I had the pleasure of seeing them perform at a small pub here in London and they killed it, per usual. Esp...
I recently took a trip to Amsterdam with my parents. I know, that sentence in of itself is worthy of a good therapy session, but none of us had been and it seemed like a cool city to go explore in the short time they were across the pond visiting me. It was worth the trip just for a visit to the Anne Frank House ( without Justin Bieber, that foolish child ), but we were lucky enough to fit in a few more things before we had to leave. I tried to learn a few Dutch phrases, but per usual everyone spoke perfect English. Something I'm still trying to master. Here are some of the (many, many) pictures I took during our two days: Outside the Anne Frank House Outside the library, which was obviously our first stop. Matching the city's laid back 'tude, cats just ...
IT'S BEEN THREE YEARS?! God, I'm sorry. I feel like I went out for cigarettes and then just left you guys for the traveling troubadour that I met at an open mic night. Truthfully, I didn't feel like I had anything to write about when I stopped traveling around Europe and having adorable fish out of water experiences. But weirdly, a lot of life still managed to happen here in the good ol' USA (I will not talk politics) and, as I am now currently writing this in a coffee shop, my transition into Basic Brooklyn Hipster is now complete. The biggest change has been in my "career". After having a job in a different field for two years, I am back in the TV world and am currently a freelancer...which is a fancy way of saying I'm unemployed a lot of the time. It's a temporary life, but it's one that has been filled with nuggets of self-awareness and eye-opening realizations. Here are 10 things I've discovered while freelancing/riding that unemploym...
