Happy Father's Day

Since my father is basically the main source of material for this blog, it only seems fitting to dedicate today's post to him.

So Happy Father's Day to the man who taught me how to trip with grace and humor. Love you Dad!

Amster...Dammit HOW Many Trains Do We Have to Take??

I recently took a trip to Amsterdam with my parents. I know, that sentence in of itself is worthy of a good therapy session, but none of us had been and it seemed like a cool city to go explore in the short time they were across the pond visiting me. (Plus I really wanted to sing  Roxanne by The Police whenever I saw a red light because C'MON. When else can you do that?) The city was beautiful and everyone was super friendly. It was worth the trip just for a visit to the Anne Frank House ( without Justin Bieber, that foolish child ), but we were lucky enough to fit in a few more things before we had to leave. I tried to learn a few Dutch phrases, but per usual everyone spoke perfect English. Something I'm still trying to master. Soundtracks to All Nighters

This past year was filled with a disgusting amount of all nighters, which I am WAY too old for (I was too old for it at 20, so it only got worse). But the one good thing that came out of it, besides talented(delirious) dance routines, was the discovery and rediscovery of some great albums. I had some very odd choices in terms of what helped me to write/keep me from throwing myself out the window. A Few Things That Are Currently Keeping Me From Jumping Into the Thames

I'm knee deep in it, folks. Need to do: 12,000 word dissertation (!), two 5,000 word essays (!!), one 2,500 word essay (!!!), and one 2,000 word essay (.....sorry I passed out for a second). BASICALLY, I'm close to the end of my rope (see what I did there?!) However, there are a few things that I just can't get enough of at the moment that are making the process a little easier. Hope you like them too! ....and that you don't have to write 26,500 words in the next month because that's MY THING. GET YOUR OWN. honeyhoney - "Lost Highway" (Hank Williams cover) I've been obsessed with hh for a few years now and the obsession is not letting up anytime soon. They're such a great blend of folk, americana, and indie. Plus they are a joy to see play live since they have such great personalities. (I swear, I'm not their manager....I wish).
